Surface Preparation & Application:
Estimated Coverage:
Quart: Will prime and patch area plus reinforce two 60 lb. sacks of dry-mix concrete.
Gallon: Allow 1 gallon adhesive per sack of pure dry cement or 1 to 1-1/2 gallon adhesive per 500 lb. of
cement mix.
Admix Solution:
Prepare by making a solution of 1 measure of additive added to 4 measures of clean water.
Mortar Mix:
Use packaged dry “Topping Mix” or 1 measure of Portland Cement mixed with 4 measures of sharp, clean
sand. Add enough Admix Solution to the dry mix to form a stiff mortar. Thin wet mixes cause shrinkage and
cracking.
Patching Concrete Steps, Curbs or Joining New Concrete:
Remove all dirt, paint, wax, and loose material from surface to be patched. Prime coat the surface to be
patched with undiluted Concrete Bonding Additive. When the prime coat is tacky, apply fresh mortar
which has been made using the Admix Solution. Do not allow the prime coat to dry out. If the prime coat
does dry out, apply a second coating of the Concrete Bonding Additive and repair immediately.

Tuck Pointing:
For an extra strong mortar for brick, applying wall caps, tuck pointing and filling cracks, use a Mortar Mix as
described above.
Resurfacing Walls and Floors:
• Remove all wax, dirt and loose paint from concrete area to be resurfaced. Scrub the concrete surface with a
10% solution of muriatic acid and wash away with clean water. Let dry.
• Test for bond: Traces of silicates, silicones, etc., used for sealing and waterproofing, may prevent a bond of
new material. Make a test patch before proceeding.
• Prime with a mixture of 4 parts Bonding Additive mixed with 1 part clean water. Use an extra prime coat
on all areas where new concrete will be feather edged.
• Wet the cement/sand mix with a solution of 1 part Bonding Additive mixed with 4 parts clean water.
Note: Concrete Bonding Additive is not considered compatible with: Glue sizings, wallpaper paste,
paraffin oils, waxes or vinyl chloride.
