DAP Presto Patch Multi-Purpose Patching Compound is an all-purpose, high performance patching compound formulated to set fast and dry hard. Set time is 5-10 minutes and is ready to paint in 30 minutes. Great for all interiorwall, ceiling and floor projects.
Surface Preparation & Application:
• Widen cracks at least 1/4 inch in width. The surface to be patched must be clean and free of dirt, grease, oil,
loose particles, chalky substances and foreign material.
• In a clean container, slowly mix three parts of powder into one part of cold water by volume and stir
thoroughly. You may adjust the consistency with more water, if desired. Mix only the amount of product
needed for immediate use.
• Using a spatula or putty knife, push PRESTO PATCH® completely into the crack or damaged area, then
smooth.
• For areas larger than 1” wide or 1/4” deep, two layers are required. Apply the first layer 1/4” deep into the
crack and allow 30 minutes to dry. Then apply the second layer and smooth again, allowing at least 30
minutes to dry.
• Lightly sand the patched area with fine grade sandpaper. Then prime, paint or apply wall covering, as
desired. If painting is desired, always use a good quality latex-based or masonry paint for a professional
finish. If necessary, the patch may be shaved or wet sanded.
• Clean all tools immediately with soap and water.
Coverage: One 4 lb. package will cover about 2.75 square feet with 1/4”
thickness.

Clean tools immediately with soap and water. Store in a dry place away from the reach of children.
